How To Support Your Family At A School Fundraising Event

When you have a family there’s a ton of things that you do for them, or would like to do for them. Whether you’re a fundraising for schoolsmother or a grandmother caring for your grandchildren, there are  many  everyday activities that require your attention. But, there are also vast array of intangibles that most of us consider equally important.  Supporting the children’s interests and encouraging their creativity, for example, can  help them to grow and flourish. But, you may also want to support their schooling.

Helping with homework is not everybody’s thing. So, you may want to consider helping with a school fundraising event. The idea may push you out of your comfort zone, at first. Consider, however, that it’s great way for you to grow and makes friends too. If you’re not sure what you could do to help, or  don’t know where to start, following are five ideas to get you started.

Host A Booth

One of the first and easiest things to consider doing, is to host a booth. Now, when schools have fetes or fundraisers, they  often have all kinds of different booths. Each booth requires at least one host and possibly several. Why not offer your assistance? It’s a very a simple way to launch your participation in school fundraisers. All that will be required of you is to talk to the children or parents, hand out whatever your booth is offering, and/or take money for purchases.

Make The Food

Here, you can look at resources like www.fundraiserinsight.org to see what ideas would fit in with your cooking skills and interests. Or, if you don’t want to cook, or the school prefers to work with caterers, considering finding out how you could support the ordering and menu choices or help with the catering team at the event.

Find A Fun Alternative

Or maybe you want to think about different and alternative booths and events that you could work on. For example,  you could look into ideas like www.brickmarkers.com as a cool way to raise money and offer it as a suggestion to the event’s organizers.  They will be grateful for any offering of new and exciting ideas that will help them raise the funds that they need.

Sell Tickets

Alternatively, you could offer to be on the ticket selling committee. For this role, your job would likely be to help promote and raise awareness of the event and get children and parents interested in attending and buying tickets. On the day of the event you might be called upon to work the door of the event.

Be A Chaperone

Many events require chaperones to help supervise the children. It would be your job to make sure that the kids are safe or direct people if they need it. You could even be called upon to chaperone the refreshment committee. If you’re worried about being a chaperone, take a look at these tips on www.insoucianceabroad.com, for more information and ideas.

Knowledge is power. Learning some of the ins and outs of school fundraisers will help you feel more fit to do the job.  You may even find you love doing it!
