Quotes by Women – A New Beginning

I’ve been sharing quotes by women for a long time! Here are just a few. If you’re on Facebook, I hope you’ll follow my Quotes by Women page.

“Virginia Satir was an influential American author and psychotherapist, recognized for her approach to family therapy. Her pioneering work in the field of family reconstruction therapy honored her with the title.”  Wikipedia  (DOB: 6/26/16 DOD: 9/12/88)

NOVELIST, ESSAYIST, EDITOR, PROFESSOR

“Chloe Anthony Wofford Morrison, known as Toni Morrison, was an American novelist, essayist, book editor, and college professor. Her first novel, The Bluest Eye, was published in 1970. The critically acclaimed Song of Solomon brought her national attention and won the National Book Critics Circle Award.” Wikipedia

Many of these great quotes came from great books! Tara Brach’s book Radical Acceptance gave me plenty to think about when I read it. Since that time she has expanded her offerings and her reach. Find out more on her website. I suspect I will be adding more of her words to the Quotes by Women category on Aging Abundantly.

You will find Daisy Hickman, writer, author, poet, memorist, student of society and culture and founder of Sunny Room Studio. You will find her on Facebook where she has a knack of making us think!

Who didn’t love Rhoda!

(Valeria Harper – a woman of wisdom and courage to the end)

“Angela Anaïs Juana Antolina Rosa Edelmira Nin y Culmell, known professionally as Anaïs Nin, was a French-Cuban-American diarist, essayist, novelist and writer of short stories and erotica. Born to Cuban parents in France, Nin was the daughter of composer Joaquín Nin and Rosa Culmell, a classically trained singer.” Wikipedia

No listing of quotes by women would ever be complete without something from Maya Angelou. A beautiful poet and writer, her words will continue to linger and play in our hearts long after her death (April 4, 1928 – May 28, 2014). RIP
