A daily routine that includes personal well-being practices is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves.
Of course, actually finding ways to incorporate these practices often seems much easier said than done. When we allow daily interferences to interfere with our daily routine, frustration undermines our sense of balance and harmony.
Fortunately, there are an array of solutions for obstacles to well-being. Address them one by one to improve your attitude and ability to put a health focused daily routine in place. For example, you may want to start by visiting a hearing center. Hearing issues can interfere with your quality of life and prevent you from setting up a daily routine.
Take this one step and you may find creative avenues to well-being opening up all around you. You may avoid making phone calls, or reaching out to friends and neighbors because of hearing concerns.
Research has repeatedly shown that maintaining our health and well being is best done by a wellness focused daily routine.
CORNERSTONES OF A DAILY ROUTINE FOCUSED ON WELLNESS
Spend regular time interacting with people – particularly those you care about
Science shows again and again that humans are “social creatures”. It’s simply an unavoidable fact that we all need close connections to others in order to thrive. The amount of social interaction required varies from person to person, but we all require it.
Technology has given us a wide variety of opportunities to interact with others. This type of social interaction, however, gives us a false sense that we are being “social”. This type of interaction, however, has actually gotten in the way of the face-to-face interaction we require. Many individuals, in fact, routinely end up going weeks — or even months — without coming into face to face contact with another person. Covid has made this problem worse.
Finding ways to fit regular human interaction into your routine can be extremely powerful for your sense of wellbeing, your social connections, and even your health. In particular, it’s especially important to make time to regularly interact with your loved ones and close friends.
In practice, this might mean arranging for regular catchups over a cup of tea, or joining a hobby group. Of course, while face-to-face interaction is always best, a phone call is still a lot better than nothing — and better than texting.
Look for opportunities to connect with nature
A daily routine focused on personal well-being should include spending time in the natural world. Spending time outside is beneficial for health in so many ways. It provides stress-relief, a sense of connection, and overall feelings of wellbeing.
One example of its impact has been shown by researchers who found that trees release healing aerosols into the atmosphere around them and promote positive health effects. But the benefits of spending time in nature can’t simply be reduced to what science has shown.
Throughout the ages, individuals have found beauty, inspiration, and a sense of wholeness in the natural world.
By regularly going for strolls or hikes in beautiful green areas, your sense of wellbeing is sure to improve significantly. Including a fifteen minute walk in your daily routine will lift your spirits and improve your health.
Have at least one project that you’re working that is energizing
It’s a great feeling to be excited about getting out of bed in the morning. One of the best ways to achieve this is to always have a creative project of some sort lined up that you can spend some time every day working on. The sky is the limit as to what this includes, but some activities others enjoy include tending to gardens an indoor plants; handiwork such as crocheting, needlepoint, counted cross-stitch, sewing; refurbishing and painting furniture; crafting; cooking; photography; writing. What gets your juices flowing?
The key here is to always have one creative hobby or project in motion at all times and being sure to include time to work on it in your daily routine. Making this commitment to yourself will quickly restore your zest for life, and boost your sense of wellbeing.
